Cooking Class: "Kids Making Dinner"
What's included
1 live meeting
50 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this class we will be working in the kitchen. Your child will learn how to make homemade pizza and a side salad. We will be using the oven, knives, and other kitchen utensils that will need to be approved by parents to use. My class is structured with a greeting, safety and sanitation steps, recipe reading, cooking, and then cleaning up. My teaching style is all about having fun and making sure the students have fun. The students will get to speak about what toppings they like on their pizzas and salads as we cook. It is fun to see each persons final product! The students should be somewhat comfortable in the kitchen. I would suggest a parent observing if they are new to cooking.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their knowledge in the kitchen by learning basic cooking techniques, taking safety/sanitation measures, and using their own kitchen utensils from home.

Parental Guidance
In this cooking class, we will be using a variety of kitchen appliances that might need some supervision if your child isn't allowed to use these items alone. The student will be using the oven, knives, microwave, stove top, etc. If your child isn't comfortable cooking with these items yet, I suggest you join the class as well. I recommend you to join the class and help supervise along the way if needed.
Also, if your child has any allergies make sure to take a look at our materials and adjust as needed. This could be wheat, soy, nuts, dairy, and eggs. Please let me know if you have any other questions regarding this class.

I have a bachelors degree in Education and I am currently a full time FACS teacher. I have ten years of experience with coaching dance/gymnastics. I was a substitute teacher for 3 years and currently on my first year of teaching.
My values of teaching have come from a long line of educators in my family. I have grown up watching them make an impact on the community and I would love to do the same. I believe learning can be fun and educational at the same time. I love to get to know my students and make relationships from day one of learning.
Traveling is a huge passion of mine. I lived in Australia for 5 months as I was studying abroad. I hope to continue to travel and share my experiences through teaching the youth. I am hoping to create a traveling class if people are interested!
