Class Experience
** THIS IS A FLEX CLASS AND DOES NOT HAVE LIVE MEETINGS ** During this class, learners will be taught how to make delicious homemade main dish meals. Making dinner for friends and family is fun and rewarding if you have a delicious recipe you'd like to share. We'll talk about different salads, side dishes, or vegetables that would go well with each meal. Quick Class Schedule Overview: Week 1: Chicken Alfredo Pasta Week 2: Loaded and Smothered Beef Burritos Week 3: Teriyaki Chicken and...
Students will: • Learn to make dinner for their families once a week by making a variety of main dishes. • Learn to modify a recipe to fit their own needs and tastes. • Share experiences with one another through the classroom. • Build recipe files and increase confidence in cooking and baking.
Cooking and baking are some of my favorite hobbies and I enjoy spending time making a variety of foods for my family. I have been cooking and baking for my family for over 25 years. However, my hobby truly began when I was a young girl and I wanted to make and create different foods and dishes in the kitchen. I am excited to share this wonderful hobby with young chefs and create an excitement in this area as well.
This is the best kind of homework! Make the dish...and then enjoy eating it! :)
The supply lists and ingredients will change each week, depending on the type of main dishes we are making. These will be sent out 3 days before class begins so learners can plan and prepare for the upcoming week. As with all of my cooking and baking classes, I will include photos of the supplies and ingredients we will be using to make it easier for students to see and gather what they need for each class. Most of the classes will require these supplies: Rubber spatula or wooden spoon Mixing bowl Measuring cups and measuring spoons Saucepan or oven baking dish
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Parents are strongly encouraged to assist the learner in the kitchen. Learners will be using the stove and/or oven each week, as well as knives when cutting vegetables and preparing some of the food. Please be aware of allergens - these recipes may contain ingredients with soy, nuts, dairy, etc.
