Learners will make a delicious, yet easy ice cream dessert. This is a perfect class for young chefs who want to spend time creating in the kitchen. It is a simple dessert, but when I served it at a summer party, it was labeled as a "fun and fancy summer treat." I love cooking, baking and creating in the kitchen. I have fun with my students and want everyone to feel safe and happy. Mistakes are okay because that is how we learn and improve. Each student will feel a part of our class as they...
Students will improve their skills and confidence in the kitchen while making a fun and easy summer dessert. They will learn more about modifying a recipe to change it up and create something new. Learners will feel safe and confident while having fun in our class!
Cooking and baking are some of my favorite hobbies and I enjoy spending time making a variety of foods for my family. I have been cooking and baking for my family for over 25 years. However, my hobby truly began when I was a young girl and I wanted to make and create different foods and dishes in the kitchen. I am excited to share this wonderful hobby with young chefs and foster this excitement in them as well.
2 files available upon enrollmentStudents may choose to participate and make the recipe along with me during class or follow along and make the recipe at a later time using the class video. To make the ice cream dessert during class, students will need to gather these ingredients and kitchen supplies: 8-12 Ice cream sandwiches (rectangular sandwiches) 8 oz. Cool Whip or other whipped topping (spray can whipping cream does not work well) Chocolate syrup (or other syrup of choice) Bag of Heath Bits 'O Brickle (or other toppings of choice) 8x8 pan Spatula Regular/Butter Knife A few paper plates As always with my cooking and baking classes, I have attached photos of the ingredients and supplies to make it easier to see what you need for class. Learners will have access to these photos and the recipe once they are enrolled. This will be a fun class, so I hope you will join me!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents, please be aware that students may need to use a regular/butter knife to cut an ice cream sandwich in half. No other parental guidance is needed.
