This is a 5-week FLEX class in which students will learn how to make a variety of breakfast foods, including muffins, pancakes, orange rolls, flavored syrup, breakfast casserole, & Belgian waffles. Take breakfast food to a whole new level!

Class experience

Students will:
• Learn to make a variety of breakfast foods.
• Learn to modify a recipe to fit their own needs and tastes.
• Share experiences with one another through the classroom.
• Build recipe files and increase confidence in cooking and baking.
Cooking and baking are two of my favorite hobbies and I enjoy spending time making a variety of foods for my family. I have been cooking and baking for my family for over 25 years. However, my hobby truly began when I was a young girl and I wanted to make and create different foods and dishes in the kitchen. I am excited to share this wonderful hobby with young chefs and create an excitement for them in this as well.
Homework Offered
Learners are encouraged to post weekly on the classroom page. I will ask questions about the different breakfast foods and recipes at the end of each week. Students should be prepared to share their successes, as well things that might have been a struggle as they learned something new. Students will also be asked to share a photo with the class of at least 3 of their breakfast foods.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Grades Offered
The supply lists and ingredients will change each week, depending on the type of foods we are making, and will be sent out 3 days before class begins so learners can plan and prepare for the upcoming week. As with all of my cooking and baking classes, I will include photos of the supplies and ingredients we will be using to make it easier for students to see and gather what they need for class. I will also include a list to make it easier for printing and shopping.

Most of the classes will require these supplies:
Rubber spatulas and mixing spoons
Whisk or electric hand-mixer
Muffin pan (Optional: cupcake liners)
Saucepan and wooden spoon
Measuring cups and spoons
Non-stick cooking spray
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners will be using the oven, griddle and/or the stove in most classes. We will also be using electric mixers and and knives for cutting butter or other ingredients. Please be aware of possible allergens for your child such as dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, or nuts (some of these are optional ingredients). Parents are strongly encouraged to assist the learner in the kitchen.
