Class Experience

Let's travel around the world via food, in my Cooking Around the World series! We will be making popular dishes from Vietnam, Japan, Greece, Italy, Mexico and more! In this one-time class, we will be making Bruschetta, a traditional Italian dish. This is a very simple dish. If your learner is older than the recommended age, they are welcome to join! The age is due to the simplicity of this dish. While the dish is simple, we will be chopping a lot of veggies, so please ensure your learner can do this alone, or be present to help them :)

In this class students will learn by doing! There will not be any power points or slide shows; we will jump right into the kitchen and get to cooking! In this class, we will begin at the prep of the food and end with a yummy completed recipe. We will have a continued discussion of the recipe while cooking, along with socializing about hobbies, favorite dishes, etc.

Students should have basic knowledge of cooking. For example, the learner should be familiar with working a stove top, oven, microwave, blender, mixer, food processor, etc. I will go over these things in class but students should have a little prior knowledge, as it can be difficult to help with these things without being hands on!

We will do each step of the recipe together. Once the student is finished, they are encouraged to share a photo/review of the taste with me on the classroom discussion. Students are also encouraged to share a photo/video of themselves cooking or their finished dish.

I will be making enough in my videos for 2 people, students are welcome to make enough for however many they wish I will discuss how many people each student is cooking for and try my best to tailor the recipe to each student.

The goal of this course is to provide the student with new skills, confidence in the kitchen, social skills, and of course, yummy recipes for the whole family to enjoy!

*I will NOT be cooking every class. I will, however, be demonstrating with my hands and words and have completed hundreds of cooking classes without issue with this technique :)
