Class Experience

It's snack time and today's snack is a healthy one! Join me in this one-time class where we will make cookie dough hummus. This is a great sweet snack for anyone in the family.

In this class, students will work on reading and following step by step directions in a recipe. Students will learn to measure and combine ingredients to make the cookie dough hummus. There is no baking involved in this recipe, so no need to preheat the oven. Just measure, blend, and mix to make this tasty treat.

Your child will need all of the ingredients ready (NOT measured out) for the start of class and we will practice measuring accurately and combining ingredients together. Please review ingredient list for allergies. Parental supervision is important for all cooking experiences. Students will be using a can opener and a blender/food processor during this class.

A printable recipe that will be provided upon enrollment in class. You can keep the recipe to make this hummus again and again! I'd suggest creating a little recipe club binder of all your favorite recipes.

I believe that children learn best by doing. My classes will be fun, engaging and hands on. I have a passion for reading, travel, health and wellness as well as cooking yummy meals and treats with my boys. My classroom is a welcoming environment that is geared towards all learning styles and personalities.

I have over 18 years of teaching experience including 7 years of in classroom teaching where I worked as a special education teacher for students in grades K-8, 6 years of online teaching experience teaching ESL to students around the world and 5 years of homeschooling my own children.
