Homework
1 hour per week. Students will be expected to follow instructions to make four different recipes. The students will also be encouraged to post a picture or video in the classroom to share their recipes with the teacher.

Class Experience

In this self paced course, students will be provided with instructional videos to make four different dinner recipes.  The students will make the recipes with the teacher's instructions (in the videos).  The students will also be encouraged to post a picture or video to share their recipes with the teacher.   *No previous experience is required. 

The students will:
-practice following a recipe
-practice using kitchen tools to measure ingredients
-practice cooking on a stovetop or oven (*Parental supervision is strongly encouraged.)
-confidently share their completed recipes with the teacher/class (and their families).

In this cooking class, we will make a different dinner recipe each week.  Here are the weekly recipes:
Lesson 1: Sloppy Joes
Lesson 2: Lasagna Soup
Lesson 4: Chicken Alfredo

Lesson 1:
Sloppy Joes
 The student will learn the tools, ingredients, and recipe required to make Sloppy Joes to share with friends and family. 
Lesson 2:
Lasagna Soup
 The student will learn the tools, ingredients, and recipe required to make Lasagna Soup to share with friends and family. 
Lesson 3:
Chicken Crescent Roll Bake
 The student will learn the tools, ingredients, and recipe required to make Chicken Crescent Roll Bake to share with friends and family. 
Lesson 4:
Chicken Alfredo
 The student will learn the tools, ingredients, and recipe required to make Chicken Alfredo to share with friends and family.

Parental Guidance
Parents, please be advised of the following potential hazards: use of oven/stove, hot surfaces and mixtures, and the risk of allergens. Parental guidance is encouraged.
Supply List
The students will make four different recipes by following the instructional videos.  For each recipe, the students will be given a list of the ingredients and tools that they will need.  At the beginning of the course, students will also receive a shopping list for all four recipes.

I have been cooking and baking with my mom since I was a young girl.  My mom, a professional baker, has inspired me to be creative in the kitchen.  I now share my love of cooking and baking with my own children (and my family and friends).  I am excited to share my love of cooking and baking with other young home chefs as well.
