Students are expected to follow the recipe to make a different cookie recipe each week. The students are encouraged to post a picture or video in the classroom to share their cookies with the teacher and other students.Class Experience
Baking during the holidays is something that I’ve been doing with my family for as long as I can remember. I am excited to share my love of baking with your teen. In this 4-week flexible schedule class, students will be making four different holiday cookie recipes: Sugar Cookies, Gingerbread Cookies, Snickerdoodles, and Chocolate Crinkles. The students will make the recipes with the teacher's instructions (in the videos). The students are encouraged to post a picture to share their cookies with the teacher and other students. Students are encouraged to interact with each other and the teacher within the Outschool classroom . The students will: -practice following a recipe -practice using kitchen tools to measure ingredients -practice cooking on a stove/oven (*Parental supervision is strongly encouraged.) -confidently share their completed recipes with the teacher/classmates (and their families). *No previous experience is required. In this flexible schedule cooking class, we will make these holiday cookies: Week 1: Chocolate Crinkles Week 2: Snickerdoodles Week 3: Sugar Cookies Week 4: Gingerbread Cookies I look forward to seeing your home baker in the kitchen!

Students will improve their skills and confidence as bakers in the kitchen by practicing making cookies.

Parents, please be advised of the following potential hazards: use of oven/stove and the risk of allergens. Parental guidance is encouraged.
Supply List
The students will make four different recipes by following the instructional videos. Each week, the students will be given a list of the ingredients and tools that they will need in order to make the recipe of the week. Students will also receive a shopping list for all 4 weeks, before the first class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I have been cooking and baking with my mom since I was a young girl. My mom, a professional baker, has inspired me to be creative in the kitchen. I now share my love of cooking and baking with my own children (and my family and friends). I am excited to share my love of cooking and baking with other young home chefs as well.
