Cooking and Baking for Kids: Let's Bake Cookies

In this self-paced class, students will make four different cookie recipes: Peanut Butter Blossom, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, Monster Cookies, and Snickerdoodles. Let’s have fun making delicious cookies to share!

Homework
1 hour per week. Students will follow the recipe to make a different cookie recipe for each lesson.

Class Experience

In this self-paced course, students will be provided with instructional videos to make four different dessert cookie recipes: Peanut Butter Blossoms, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, Monster Cookies, and Snickerdoodles.   The students will make the recipes with the teacher's instructions (in the videos).  The students are encouraged to post a picture or video to share their cookies with the teacher.  *No previous experience is required. 

The students will:
-practice following a recipe
-practice using kitchen tools to measure ingredients
-practice cooking on a stove/oven (*Parental supervision is strongly encouraged.)
-confidently share their completed recipes with the teacher (and their families/friends).

In this flexible schedule cooking class, we will make these cookie recipes:
Lesson 1: Peanut Butter Blossoms
Lesson 2: Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Lesson 3: Monster Cookies
Lesson 4: Snickerdoodles

Lesson 1:
Peanut Butter Blossoms
 The student will learn the tools, ingredients, and recipe required to make Peanut Butter Blossoms to share with friends and family. 
Lesson 2:
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
 The student will learn the tools, ingredients, and recipe required to make Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies to share with friends and family. 
Lesson 3:
Monster Cookies
 The student will learn the tools, ingredients, and recipe required to make Monster Cookies to share with friends and family. 
Lesson 4:
Snickerdoodles
 The student will learn the tools, ingredients, and recipe required to make Snickerdoodles to share with friends and family.

Parental Guidance
Parents, please be advised of the following potential hazards: use of oven/stove and the risk of allergens. Parental guidance is encouraged.
Supply List
The students will make four different recipes by following the instructional videos.  The students will be given a list of the ingredients and tools that they will need in order to make the recipe for each lesson.  Students will also receive a shopping list for all 4 weeks at the beginning of the course.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
