This is a hands on cooking class so get ready to get messy as we will be working with chocolate and cocoa! The class is structured to be very step-by-step, extremely interactive and geared for hands on learners. In this class we will learn how to make Ooey Gooey Chocolate Rocky Road Cookies! Students will learn how to melt chocolate and butter carefully using the microwave, measure wet and dry ingredients precisely and then combine their ingredients together to make delicious, mouth watering cookies! No experience necessary however students may need help with using a microwave to melt chocolate and operating an oven safely. Your chef will need access to the ingredients, equipment (measuring spoons, measuring cups, mixing bowls), a cookie sheet and an oven. At the end of class, your chef will be able to serve your entire family fresh out of the oven cookies. Bon Appétit! *Please note, I live in Canada so we measure in cups and mL's. If you live in Europe or other places that measure by weight, please let me know at least 48 hours ahead of time so I can have the weight measurements ready.
Learning Goals
Students will learn proper measuring techniques, learn terminology used in baking and will enhance their baking techniques.
Students will bake cookies during class with the teacher.
