Class Experience

I have been an online ESL teacher for 2 years and for the last 6 years I have ran a cottage food bakery out of my home. I'm so excited to share my tips and tricks with my students!
Prior to class, students must have 6 circle sugar cookies completely baked and cooled. I recommend a 2 1/2 " circle in diameter. If you do not have a cookie cutter, a rim of a cup will suffice.

I have attached a sugar cookie recipe, however, store bought premade dough or a sugar cookie mix works great as well!

 2 files available upon enrollment
1. 6 circle cookies approx 1.5" in diameter. A circle cookie cutter or rim of a cup can be used to cut out the dough. Dough can be store bought or homemade but must be baked prior to class. I will be working with a vanilla roll out cookie dough. 2. Food coloring in the following colors- yellow, blue, red, and black. I find food coloring gel works best. 3. 10 disposable tipless piping bags. [12" or 16"] These can be found on Amazon and most major craft stores. (No metal tips are needed!) 4. Piping bag ties or clips [rubberbands can be used as well but not as effective] I use bag sealing clips. 5. Toothpicks 6. 5 small bowls or cups to mix icing colors in 7. 1-2 spatulas 8. Ingredients to make royal icing [recipe attached-includes powdered sugar, meringue powder, and vanilla] 9. Kitchenaid Mixer [a hand mixer can be used but not preferred] 10. Cookie sheet 11. Paper towels
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Students may need guidance baking the cookies. Cookies must be baked prior to class as we will only be learning how to decorate them in class.
