Learners will be required to: 1) Look through their pantry to see what food they already have that's on the list. 2) Be involved with the shopping and checking items off their grocery list. 3) Using their recipe to follow along with the video as we prepare the food together.Class Experience
Meal prep is where it's at! Ever hungry, but there's nothing to eat? Let's fix that! In this self-paced class, we'll learn to prepare 4 sets of freezer meals (a total of 8 recipes) that you can have on hand for "hungermergencies" (Ever have those?) We'll gather, prepare, and combine our ingredients, so when hunger strikes, you'll have a fresh meal to pull out of the freezer and pop in the oven. "How much food will I be cooking?" Good question. :-) For each recipe, you will have a few options: #1) Double each recipe, so you have one to eat that day and one to freeze for later. #2) Make a double recipe of each to freeze. #3) Make a single recipe of each to freeze. That's why this self-paced class is so great! You can adapt these recipes to fit your family's needs the best! Each lesson includes 2 printable recipes, as well as a grocery list containing all the items you'll need to purchase. In addition to the lists, I'll link a short video previewing the ingredients on your grocery list so you can have a visual of what you're looking for at the store. We'll also discuss possible substitutions and recommended brands. Because this is a self-paced class there are no live meetings. For each lesson, in addition to the recipes and ingredient preview video, you'll have a cooking video demonstrating the steps of preparation/cooking both freezer meals for that week. Here's our menu: Week 1: Taco Theme - John Wayne Casserole (individual or family serve) - Enchilada Lasagna (family serve) Week 2: Breakfast - Breakfast Burritos (individual serve) - Cheesy Egg and Sausage Bites (individual serve) Week 3: Pasta -Ravioli Lasagna (family serve) -Chicken Noodle Casserole (family serve) Week 4: Hand Pies - Beef Empanadas (savory, individual serve) - Fruit Pies (sweet, individual serve) See you in the kitchen soon!
Learning Goals
The learner will gain confidence with all the steps of meal planning. This includes deciding what groceries they need to purchase, checking off a grocery list, preparing the ingredients, and possibly doubling recipes.

Parental Guidance
Parental guidance is highly recommended as learners will be preparing their food using various kitchen tools including (but not limited to) knives, the oven, the stove top, etc.
Supply List
Students will be provided with a recipe and a shopping list. For easy access, it is best if they can print these out for reference.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
