Beginner Level
The students in this class will learn how to write fractions as decimals. The students will also learn how to change decimals to percents. Prior knowledge of fractions, division, and multiplication is necessary for this class. A quick review of basic multiplication facts will be completed prior to the lesson. On the whiteboard the students will be given a fraction and then using the I do, we do, you do strategy I will demonstrate to the students how to change the fraction to a decimal using division. Next, I will demonstrate how to change the decimal to a percent using the I do, we do, you do strategy again. The learners will interact with me using the whiteboard to show understanding of the lesson. This class is best suited for students who are in the 5th or 6th grade and are learning this for the first time. Or it is a review.
