In this class learners will learn about the six common metric prefixes and the values they have. We will review each prefix and converting units from standard units (meter, gram, liter) to those we study (kilo. hectao. deka, deci, centi, milli). They will play a board style game making those conversions. Finally they will solve some word problems using those skills. Students should have some experience with decimal points. There will not be homework. Learner progress is assessed through computations during the game and answers given while working on word problems. A certificate of completion will be available in the classroom after the class as well as the PowerPoint containing the review, the game, and word problem practice.

Students should have a die for turn taking during the game. Students should have paper and pencil available.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
