Scientific brain studies have shown the positive impact that learning a second language has on cognitive development. Research indicates that infants and students exposed to a second language demonstrate greater flexibility of thought and problem-solving abilities compared to those who are not exposed to such linguistic diversity. Teaching Spanish is my contribution to extending these benefits to our monolingual population and students with bilingual parents who have yet to fully grasp their second language.

I have employed interactive methods such as games and group interactions in my Spanish lessons. I've observed that my students utilize their Spanish vocabulary more frequently in these contexts compared to traditional grammar-based instruction. The dynamics within my classes are intentionally crafted to foster a comfortable atmosphere where students feel encouraged to take risks and actively engage with the language, nurturing their enthusiasm for learning it.
