Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from American Public University
Welcome to my classes! Here, you will find Spanish and behavioral technique courses tailored for children and youth. I am originally from Guatemala City, Central America, and my native language is Spanish, with English as my second language. I have had the privilege of traveling across the United States, as well as to Mexico and Costa Rica, which has broadened my cultural perspective.
Teaching is one of my passions, and my background as a sociologist uniquely positions me to connect with my young students. I have experience teaching Spanish to nonprofit organizations and to my 11-year-old daughter, as I believe it is vital for her to be bilingual.
I firmly believe that teaching with love and logic fosters effective learning. One of the many classes I aspire to create for children in the future is focused on behavioral skills. As a social worker, I personally hear the challenges faced by my daughter and other children. I am convinced that equipping our youth with behavioral skills and good manners can help prevent bullying in schools and reduce conflicts among peers.
