Description
Class Experience
Here's a tentative overview of the topics and materials that we'll cover in each session. I might alter this slightly if, for example, we need more time to master some of the information. I. Review of basic phrases, grammar, and vocabulary from the previous courses; Treffpunkt Berlin, Episode Five II. Completion of TB, Episode Five; present perfect tense; weather vocabulary III. TB, Episode Six; more about the present perfect tense; farm vocabulary IV. Completion of TB, Episode Six; more...
Among the skills students will learn are these: - talking about yourself and others - asking others about their families and interests - expressing preferences - discussing past and future events - asking questions about past and future events - using the German equivalents for "can," "must," "should," "want to," and "may" in conversation I'll keep organizing this course in a "spiraling" fashion, the way I used to structure my middle school German classes - meaning that I won't just cover something once, but often come back to it and delve into it more deeply. As the course continues, I'll use German as much as possible so that participants can feel more comfortable with the language. In this kind of class it's important that all learners are willing to speak with me and each another so that we can practice and absorb the materials and skills being presented. They'll need to participate actively during each lesson so that we can make substantial progress. I'll go on with some early episodes of the EMC Treffpunkt Berlin video series to enhance the material we're covering.
I'll ask students to prepare some vocabulary and grammar sheets for many of the classes. It's also very helpful if they go over the information that we cover before the next session so that they understand it better.
I'll post all of the worksheets that you'll need on the Classroom page.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We'll use more of the Treffpunkt Berlin videos series, which is available for free online.

About Me
