What's included
1 live meeting
30 mins in-class hours per weekHomework
1 hour per week. No extra homework is required but leaners are encouraged to keep using their new vocabulary at home.Class Experience
This class will have instructional time in English at the beginning of class when instruction are given, and at the end of class in order to answer any questions the learners might have. During the class, I can help clarify things in English but most of the class will be conducted in Spanish, as this is a conversation group. Each week we will have a time for learners to check in with each other, talk about their week, and get to know each other. I will work with each learner to give them the words they need and help them practice. For the second part of class, we will have either a discussion on a topic based on learner interest, or a simple game where learners can interact with each other in Spanish. Repetition is very important when learning a new language, so this class will give opportunities to practice high frequency conversational classes every week, similar to what people normally do in their own language. I will monitor the class dynamics to determine how to best navigate each week according to the needs to the learners. Besides the weekly check-in and general conversation, this class will introduce new vocabulary on various conversational topics. Some examples of weekly topics will be: Week of July 22nd - Future plans for the summer Week of July 29th - Books and other literature Week of August 5th - Movies, tv, and other entertainment preferences Week of August 12th - Clothing and hair Week of August 19th - Hobbies Week of August 26th - Food items
Learning Goals
Students will acquire new vocabulary in Spanish and practice vocabulary they might already know. They will also get to know their fellow learners and increase their confidence when practicing conversational skills in Spanish.

Teacher expertise and credentials
👋 Hi there! I'm a bilingual educator with over 12 years of experience teaching and mentoring children in both group and one-on-one settings—online and in person. I'm passionate about creating interactive, welcoming classes where learners feel encouraged to express themselves, connect with peers, and have fun while learning!
💬 I specialize in:
🇪🇸 Spanish (native speaker using Comprehensible Input for natural learning)
➕ Math (elementary & middle school)
💰 Financial literacy & entrepreneurship
🧩 Social and life skills
✨ In my classes, students can expect:
Fun, low-pressure icebreakers to start each session
A safe space to speak up, ask questions, and connect
Engaging activities that keep learning dynamic and social
Time for peer conversations when possible—because connection makes learning more fun!
🧠 My favorite teaching moments are when I see that "lightbulb" go on—the moment a learner truly gets a concept. Whether it's mastering a tricky math problem or speaking their first full sentence in Spanish, I love celebrating those wins!
🎭 A little about me: I'm a former professional actress and once won a Best Actress award at a regional theater festival. I co-wrote and pitched a TV pilot with friends—and it got picked up! I'm also a travel enthusiast and have been a homeschool mom for 10 years. Oh, and yes... I've had 2 dogs, 5 cats, and 5 fish (not all at once!).
I'm excited to meet your learner and help them grow in confidence, skill, and curiosity!
