Class Experience

This one-time Ballet class is aimed at children who have taken my previous Ballet classes (Ballet 1/Primary/Pre-Grade 1/Grade 1 Levels).  It is also suitable for children who have previously taken ballet classes at a similar level or are wanting to see if my semester courses would be a good fit for them.  This class may be repeated.  Content may differ slightly each time depending on the children enrolled in the class.  I will run the class in between Semester/Ongoing courses for extra ballet...

Students will continue to learn ballet basics including the 5 positions, basic ballet theory (French) and a short dance/variation/mime.  This class should give the student confidence and enjoyment as well as improving their technique!  It will also be good exercise with a simple warm-up/stretches/ballet technique/dance/cool down.

I have been teaching dance for over 25 years.  I am a qualified professional dance teacher holding my Ballet Teaching certificate with the NCDTA (Northern Counties Dance Teachers Association in the UK).  I have taught all ages of ballet from young to adult; also training other teachers.  I am currently the Children's Program Director of a Dance Studio in the USA.  Ballet is one of my favorite classes to teach!

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

Parental Guidance:- 
Please ensure children have enough space to move around and remove anything they may bump into or knock down (e.g. your expensive vase!)  
Class Attire:- Please wear appropriate free-moving clothes e.g. tee-shirt with leggings, leotard and wear either ballet shoes or bare-feet (not socks) so they do not slip during the class.  
Fitness:- Your child should be in a fit and healthy state.  Please check with your doctor if you have any concerns.

Barre Work:  I will cover some traditional ballet barre work during this class.  Your child does not need a barre for this.  They can use an 'imaginary' barre or a chair.
