To teach students what's it like when they have to make financial choices of their own and how to budget their finances, pay taxes, and how to understanding APR's, balancing checkbooks, writing checks, etc.
I have over fifteen years of expertise teaching elementary, middle, and high school students in each mathematical program required for graduation; I have taught consumer math for past five years to private students and even my own teenage sons. Consumer math is essential in ensuring that students are ready for real world scenarios.
Students may need to research some prices outside of class time to prepare themselves for the following week.
Students will need to print the worksheets that will be posted to our classroom in preparation for our course.
