Learning and mastering spelling rules makes spelling less intimidating and boosts your spelling confidence. This class will teach spelling rules in an upbeat, encouraging, and multi-sensory environment. Students will learn to spell words correctly by relying on six dependable spelling rules and generalizations, such as the Doubling Rule, silent-e Rule, and the Y Rule. Please note there are no live meetings for this class. Two instructional videos will be posted in the Classroom every Monday...

Students will learn 6 spelling rules and be able to apply them in all spelling situations.
Allison Woolley has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Davis. She has homeschooled her children from kindergarten through high school and has seen the benefit of teaching spelling rules to her own children, specifically the help it gives to struggling spellers and readers. Her experience also includes tutoring English Language Arts to 2nd – 6th graders and teaching other subjects & leading groups for children in pre-K through 10th grade.
Homework Offered
A short homework assignment will be posted in the Classroom to be completed after watching each instructional video. This should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Once the one-page homework is submitted, the teacher will respond within 24 hours with corrections and feedback.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
