Allison Woolley has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Davis. She has homeschooled her children from kindergarten through high school and has seen the benefit of teaching this explicit manner of spelling to her own children, specifically the help it gives to struggling spellers and readers. Her experience also includes tutoring English Language Arts to 2nd – 6th graders, as well as and teaching other topics & leading various groups for children in pre-K through 9th grade.
Homework is posted each week. Learners are encouraged to complete as many homework activities as needed to fully grasp that week's spelling pattern. One homework assignment will be an audio file with 8 dictated sentences. A Word List will also be provided each week with suggested multi-sensory activities to do to enable the learner to interact with and master the words covered in class. Once the homework is submitted, the teacher is usually able to respond within 24 hours with corrections, detailed feedback, encouragement, and added spelling tips when applicable.
Please have paper and pencil or dry-erase board available when you watch the instructional videos.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
