In this one-time course, we will review what you need to have to make a simple sentence and then practice turning two simple sentences into a compound sentences. We will go over a slide presentation with information about how to make a compound sentence including the role of commas and conjunctions. We will practice on camera as Mrs. Oberkrom puts compound sentences together on camera with help from the students. Finally, students will work on a slide activity in which they put together compound sentences using a comma and conjunction (FANBOYS) word. This is a perfect class for any students who struggle to understand what compound sentences are or how to create them in their own writing! Only previous knowledge necessary for this course is the knowledge of nouns and verbs and the ability to create simple sentences.

Hello! Thank you for showing interest in my classes. I was a 4th grade reading and writing teacher for 2.5 years and have experience teaching in-person and virtually. I have a degree in Journalism with an emphasis on Advertising and I am a certified teacher in Texas for all core subjects for students aged early childhood through 6th grade.
