US Grade 4 - 5
This class focuses on the common or coordinating conjunctions of: for, but, and, nor, so, or, and yet. The definition of a conjunction will be discussed. Also, we will consider the reasons why we need to use them when we are writing sentences. Then, the punctuation rule will be taught. Most students will make errors when punctuating conjunction sentences, so learning this rule will cut down punctuation mistakes dramatically. The learner will then have an opportunity to practice what they learned and also get to write their own sentences using these conjunctions. I teach in a relaxed manner. No prior knowledge of parts of speech are necessary, but the student should have reading and spelling ability appropriate for their age level. Please bring paper and pencil to class. Class Rules: We mute so we do not talk over one another, we are kind and respectful to everyone, and we raise our hand if we have a comment or a question. And, per the Outschool rules, the camera must be turned on during class so that I may verify the learner.
