The Congressional Award is a youth award earned by students starting at 14 and finishing before their 24th birthday. It has four components; voluntary service, physical fitness, personal development, and expedition/exploration. It teaches goal-setting, perseverance, attention to detail, planning, and habits. It helps develop a well-rounded student and is great for the college resume. We will cover how to set goals, how to make a plan from these goals, and how to track progress. We will discuss the four components and develop individualized ideas for each one. Lastly, I will give my best tips and pitfalls to avoid. They will be ready to start the Congressional Award journey after this class.
