Description

Class Experience

Students will learn different tools to help them gain a better perspective of themselves. They will be able to practice changing negative thoughts and words into positive affirmations towards themselves. We will have challenges that will force them to appreciate who they are and where they come from. 
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling. I have also ran a body image group for women in a co-occuring rehabilitation center. We worked on ways to decrease the negative self-talk and improve their own self-worth. 
There will be challenges each week for the students to do on their own. I am creating a sense of motivation and accountability with each homework challenge. I am hopeful that they will continue with these challenges far past the scope of the class duration. With that said, they are option, but very much worth it. 
I will be uploading some documents and worksheets for this course. I will note if they are optional or part of the lesson plan. Each exercise can be created on your own paper if you are unable to print it at home. You may also be able to download the document and complete it online. If you have any questions about the documents and worksheets, please reach out to me!
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
I encourage parents to be available during or after class. Some topics discussed will be difficult or uncomfortable to some students and may bring up some hard emotions.
