Confidence Building Strategies
This introductory course teaches initiative on how to make successful plan. These strategies learned apply to any goal. We will discuss taking small steps today building confidence tomorrow. Come with your goals and leave with the first step to your plan.

We will answer the question of how do we become confident in something. Students will give examples for themselves or others. Discuss the importance of making an action plan that is made of small steps to building confidence at a skill or trade. Discuss resourceful and give examples of how we can be resourceful to create our plan of action. Discuss what it means to take initiative and to break down our plan into doable achievable action plans. Learners will interact by discussion. No required experience is needed.
Learning Goals
Students will have understand how to make a plan of action to become more confident in a skill or trade. Students will understand the importance of being resourceful and taking initiative to work through their plan to become more confident.

Supply List
Bring any current action plans you have, success stories of building confidence in a skill(ex.Dancing) and goals small(save for a room decoration) or big(applying for colleges) to brainstorm applying the strategies you learn to these items.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Ann Canfield. My background includes project management, hiring/managing staff, creating curriculum and teaching students/employees of all ages. My project management skills are in a wide range industries such as customer service, sales, marketing, accounting, restaurants and manufacturing. I have a master’s degree in behavior analysis and therapy, a bachelors in computer information systems and I am a member of Toastmasters and a life coach with ICF. My teaching style is a gradual release method - I do, we do, you do. I create easy to understand curriculum and allow students to practice what they have learned in order to master it. I individualize curriculum in order to meet the student where they are to meet the objective. On a personal note - I enjoy seeing Broadway shows with my husband and teenage son in NYC and have been involved in teen theater. It is great to watch acting and singing skills improve from the audition to the final production of a show. I am an active member to Toastmasters for public speaking and leadership. I also enjoy reading, hiking and nature photography.
