Daily Yoga Confidence Boost guides learners through themed weekly classes to help cultivate the learner's sense of inner strength and confidence. Learning and practicing yoga helps kids develop fantastic physical, emotional and mental resources to take on life! Each class is designed to meet a US National PE Standard and a Social-Emotional Learning Standard (CASEL). Through breath work, yoga postures and relaxation, they will learn tools to identify emotions and thrive through life's changes- all while improving physicality and coordination! This class aims to help learners develop their sense of self and self-confidence. Each week explores a different theme. Examples include: What is Yoga?, Emotions/Finding My 'Brave State', Finding Calm, Centering, What is Stress?, Strength, Decision Making Each class includes all of the following, specific to the day’s theme: a time-in breathing exercise, short student-centered discussion, a guided yoga sequence, a yoga game or partner activity, relaxation, and a short assignment to encourage learners to incorporate their discoveries into their day. Learners will need to have their cameras on for the first 5-10 minutes of class (time in and discussion). They may choose to turn their cameras off for the rest of class, but please be aware I am unable to offer specific guidance and feedback (including safety) to students I cannot see.

Parental Guidance
I am a Certified Children's Yoga Teacher (CYT - 95 hour through Yoga Ed). I teach from a brain-based and trauma-informed perspective to help support my students, across varying backgrounds and life experiences. I teach yoga as a secular mindfulness and movement practice, and not as a spirituality or philosophy- I strive to make all learners feel welcome!
My classes are designed to meet Social Emotional Learning Standards (CASEL) and National PE Standards. All my classes are highly interactive and guiding/inquisitive rather than lecture oriented.

SAFETY DOs & EQUIPMENT
- DO make sure students have an open space to practice yoga, away from furniture and sharp edges/objects.
- DO take class in a quiet environment to allow the learner to focus on safety instructions.
- DO bring a water bottle to class.
- DO wear flexible clothing, that stays in place as you move through all the yoga postures. No jeans/dresses/skirts or overly baggy clothes, please.
- DO come to class barefoot. This means no socks!
- DO practice yoga on a hardwood floor, carpet or non-moving rug.
- DO bring a yoga mat, or a towel to class.
- If you do not have a yoga mat, DO bring 4 small objects of your choosing (books, smooth rocks, stuffed animals, etc) or masking tape to mark the size and shape of a yoga mat (5.5'x2') on the floor.
PLEASE BE AWARE:
- It is possible for students to injure themselves during yoga by extending/pushing too far, or by slipping and falling.
- Students with asthma or migraines may experience symptoms with certain breathing exercises or inversion postures, respectively. For the purposes of this class, breathing exercises are brief, and inversions are brief or infrequent.
- It is my job as the instructor to help students identify their limits, learn about safe movement, and NOT push past those limits to the point of injury. If you know this is challenging for your learner, additional safety guidance from you is appreciated.
- I am happy to discuss any health questions or concerns prior to class.
