What's included

16 live meetings
16 in-class hours
Homework
1-2 hours per week. Optional homework problems with answers are provided, but are not turned in to be graded. Students may email with a question on the homework if they cannot figure out how to do a problem.
Projects
Students will be provided with an e-book after the first class as well as optional homework problems and answers and optional at-home projects. Should students choose to do the reading, it will be approximately 10 pages for each class. Each homework assignment should take the students 1-3 hours.
Assessment
Three optional tests with answers will be provided so that learners may check their understanding of the concepts.
Letter Grade
Students have the option of taking the class for a grade. In this case the student will be required to complete 6 of the at-home projects of their choosing and to take all three tests.
Certificate of Completion
Students will be provided with a certificate of completion at the end of the class, regardless of whether or not they took the class for a grade.

Class Experience

This is a 16 week full-semester class that covers concepts in High School Biology. Part 1 and Part 2 can be taken in any order, however there may be a few concepts from Part 1 that will be integrated into Part 2.

Images, activities, and short experiments will help solidify the concepts in class. During class I will teach by the Socratic method as much as possible while going over concepts and problems. Toward the end of each class, we will do a worksheet together with problems and short answer questions that will help students master the topics for that class. Also provided are optional homework problems with answers, reading assignments from an e-book, and project-based assignments that learners can do at home as well as three optional tests with answers so learners can check their understanding. We will not, however, be doing full biology lab experiments with detailed lab reports.
