In this Comprehensive Chess Course, learners are expected to have little to no experience with Chess - this includes not knowing chess pieces, values, systems, movements etc. Therefore, this class is not exactly suitable for those learners who already have an understanding of the basics of Chess. This class is taught in English.
Through this Chess course, students will learn the basic and fundamentals of Chess outlined in the class description.
I have been playing Chess for a few years now and improving at a good pace. I have a blitz rating (3/5 minute games) of 1300 (solid intermdiate player) which suggests that I have a really good basic and fundamental understanding of how to play Chess. This course only teaches the very basics of Chess which I believe my rating is high enough to teach the basics. Lastly, I'm a professional high school teacher that understands what 'good teaching' comprises of, and thus I structure lessons according to what best suits the learner's needs. Furthermore, I have also previously hosted and organised Chess classes/activites during after school activities which have proven to be a success!
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
