Reading is a vital skill. Reading is in everything. Every subject, every hobby, and more! As a child, I struggled as a reader. I did not know it and still did not know until later on in life. I could read and read well. I just could not understand what I was reading. As a young person, they do not know that this is not normal. This is their normal and they have no other reason to believe that other students around them aren't the same. In this class, students and I will meet over live chat sharing about reading and practices they currently have. As a struggling reader myself when I was younger, I have learned many tips and understandings about reading comprehension whilst acquiring a reading education specialist master's degree. I want to pay it forward and help as many youngsters that I can! I want to share situations and help identify your child's possible struggle and work on a plan to help improve their comprehension. I will study and share ideas to try to help improve this area of their learning. We will meet three times and if needed, more. I want to work with your child to help them create a toolbelt of strategies to help them be successful.

I have been teaching since 1999 - yes. I have over 24 years of experience. I have taught the following: elementary education- reading, math, science, social studies, library: middle school- math, science, library. Basic computer skills to children and adults. ESL Reading with a variety of age groups. Technology Integration Specialist for several years for several schools.
I have taught ESL students online for over 4 years.
