Beginner Level
The students will work with words and pictures to create compound words. Compound words are two little words put together to make a big word. Students will practice chunking and reading big words. The students will draw a few "mystery" step by step drawings of two little words and then try to guess the compound word. The students will then read some sentences with using the big compound words. The students will be encouraged to share their work with other learners, if they feel comfortable...
~The students will practice their reading skills to read compound words using the smaller word parts. ~The students will use creative skills to draw pictures of compound words. -The students will use writing skills to write compound words. ~The students will use social skills to interact with other students.
The students will need paper, pencil, and crayons or colored pencils.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
