Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 3
The Complete Second Quarter plus Literacy: 2nd and 3rd Grade course includes nine weeks of instruction and a final week of review and assessment. Students will receive rubric-based grades for each assignment as well as an average grade for the course. We will cover Math, English Language Arts, Life Science, Geography/map reading, Art, Health, Project-Based Learning, and Literacy. This class follows the Common Core standards and 21st-century skills.

We will be using ReadWorks, Nearpod, Open eBooks, and Boddle. I will be providing accounts for all of these programs. Families will need to provide assorted art supplies (student's choice) and Legos. This course is suitable for all skill levels. Throughout the course, I will provide updates on student grades and progress as well as recommendations for acceleration or remediation. One-on-one and small-group tutoring will be offered as needed.

As listed in the schedule below, we will focus on two subjects a day. Each subject will have a warm-up activity, lesson, and work period. Students will have access to materials and class recordings if they need to miss class. This course is collaborative, so attendance is essential. If necessary, the schedule will be adjusted to meet the needs of students.
