Description
Class Experience
The Complete First Quarter plus Coding: 4th and 5th Grade course includes nine weeks of instruction and a final week of review and assessment. Students will receive rubric-based grades for each assignment as well as an average grade for the course. We will cover Math, English Language Arts, Life Science, US History, Art, P.E., Project-Based Learning, and Coding. This class follows the Common Core standards and 21st-century skills. This class is taught in English.
Students will learn 4th and 5th-grade skills with a focus on coding.
Over the past 10 years, I have taught ESOL, English Language Arts, Theatre, Study Skills, and Writing in both in-person and online settings, from PreK to adults. I have obtained additional Professional Development in teaching history through literature, particularly focused on the Holocaust, Civil Rights, and Native American experience. I am a textbook/curriculum author, microschool owner, Academic Success coach, and homeschool mom. I am certified to teach in Georgia, Virginia, and South Carolina. I am also certified by the National Virtual Teacher Association.
I provide: Accounts on CodeSpark, Open eBooks, Nearpod, and Boddle. Students will have lifetime access to all. You provide: Art supplies and Legos (Suggestion: $15.99 LEGO Classic Creative Suitcase 10713 Building Kit (213 Pieces), Multicolor on Amazon)
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
