Community Builders: Kids Connecting and Creating for a Better Tomorrow
This class is based on 5 years of real community service with my 12-year-old son, who was awarded the United Way Volunteer of the Year. We’ve raised thousands, donated hundreds of hours, and have a proven outline to help kids get involved!

In our Community Builders course, we will focus on building a better community through parent-child collaboration. Together, we'll explore the power of teamwork and creative problem-solving to make a positive impact in our neighborhoods. Topics Covered: Week 1: 11/5 Welcome & Understanding what makes a strong community Week 2: 11/12 Project Brainstorming Week 3: 11/26 Planning and executing fun community projects Week 4: 12/3 Overcoming challenges Week 5: Project Presentation and Reflection Class Structure: Each session will be packed with engaging conversations, fun activities, and brainstorming sessions that inspire creativity and collaboration. Teaching Method: The class will be conducted live in 55-minute sections, ensuring we have plenty of time for interaction and exploration. Teaching Style: I bring a laid-back and fun approach to learning, creating a relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable sharing their ideas. Interaction Opportunities: As it’s a live class, I will be facilitating discussions, leading games, and using slides and video clips to enhance our lessons. Participants will engage in discussions and share their thoughts, making the experience interactive and enjoyable. I'm excited to collaborate with you and your child to inspire positive change in your community!
Learning Goals
Understand Community Assessment: Learners will learn how to assess and identify specific needs within their community by engaging in discussions, conducting surveys, and gathering feedback from peers and neighbors.
Master Project Planning Techniques: Participants will acquire the skills to create a structured project plan, including defining goals, outlining steps, identifying resources, and establishing a timeline for successful project execution.

Hey there! I’m Lisa Liberatore, a serial entrepreneur and the author of Power of Transparency: An Entrepreneur's Lessons on Balancing it All. I’ve got a Bachelor’s in Child Development and Family Relations and a Master’s in Student Development in Higher Ed, focusing on Educational Leadership. But what I’m most proud of is being a homeschool mom and the co-founder of D-Max Merch, my 12-year-old son Dorian’s business.
