Common Creature: Lion Animals

The mighty and powerful lion has a reputation worldwide as being the ‘king of beasts.’ However, there are many animals that share its name. In this multi-day class, we will dive into the oceans, trek through the jungle, and even journey through the African savannah learning about different animals that have ‘lion’ in their name.

Throughout the duration of the classes, we will learn about:

1) Mountain Lions
2) Lionfish
3) Golden Lion Tamarins
4) Lion’s Mane Jellyfish
5) Sea Lions
6) Lion Tailed Macaques

And of course, African Lions.

Each class will consist of two of these incredible animals until our finale class where we learn about the African lion. We will get a snapshot of where each animal lives, what they eat, and some fascinating facts.

This class will be more of a lecture style (yet interactive) class with a PowerPoint, photos, videos, and fascinating facts. We will have conversations about these creatures and students are encouraged to ask questions and discuss (although are also welcome to just absorb the information if they prefer).
