I have a Master's degree in Education with an emphasis in multicultural education, and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. While in a brick-and-mortar classroom, I taught single-subject math for 4 years and 5 years of math intervention.
Homework Offered
Optional homework provided and highly recommended. Homework is accompanied by a video for students to grade along with the teacher and see how the problem is worked out to evaluate any mistakes as needed.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Ongoing informal assessment during class. If I see that a student needs extra help or if a parent sees their learner needs a bit of extra help, we will schedule an office hours meeting (approx. 15 minutes) to provide additional intervention. If students complete optional digital quizzes, I will provide scores/feedback to parents upon request.Grades Offered
A single subject spiral notebook, college rule, or paper and a designated folder to organize math notes Colored pencils (sharpened and ready to use) or colorful pens (I use flair pens or ultra fine point sharpies - if you use these pens, please have a "protector page" - a blank sheet of paper to put under the page you are writing on to prevent ink bleeding through) Scratch paper or whiteboard Ruler/Straight edge Printables as provided (only needed for some classes - will be posted the week of the class they are needed)
We use Formative to complete the assessments (quizzes). Formative is a web-based tool that allows teachers to create assignments, deliver them to students, receive results, and provide individualized feedback in real-time. The site is approved by Common Sense Media as a safe site for students. Learners will need to sign up. During your learner's first week of class, learners will receive the directions (I post a video walking them through the process) and use a class code to join our online class to access the quizzes.
