Why not have them collaborate and compete with other clever creative peers to produce animations and games instead of just passively consuming them? ## Warning: Your Student needs to take the Game Design Class to Learn the Pre-Requisite Skills The students in this club will take on the roles of animators, writers, project managers, or programmers and work in teams to develop games....
This class is taught in English.
Depending on each student’s strengths (each student may have a different role within their team) Students will further develop their skills in - creative problem solving - rapid-prototyping - basic programming in Python - visual storytelling - project management - teamwork and communication - how to handle the pressure of a deadline. - how to versioning for open-source projects (github.com)
Students will need a desktop computer and basic typing skills to develop their game. Websites: Students will use - miro.com for collaborative whiteboarding - github.com for versioning They may use the atom or jEdit text editors to edit their code. Those who like to draw may also need a digital drawing app or pixel art app of their choice. FOR STUDENT WHO DO NOT TYPE PROPERLY I have a strong recommendation for those interested in creative writing, programming, or designing games. Spend 15 minutes everyday on typingclub.com for a month or two and save a lifetime of headache.
