Teacher expertise and credentials
Hey all my name is Maurice. I'm a comic book loving, video game playing , sci fi enthusiast with a knack for illustrating. I have had the luxury of teaching illustration all trough-out the boroughs of New York city. For the past 5 years I've taught outdoor workshops, after school clubs and summer camps. It's been a great pleasure working with children of all ages and backgrounds; art being the great communicator.
I have very few dislikes one being pickles and the other being when a student says they can't draw. Everyone can draw. Dedication = talent. No one is born knowing how to do anything. How many times did you fall before learning to walk? Keep practicing, stay curious, copy from your idols, and never give up. Drawing and creating is a skill like any other thing. It requires love and attention.
I'm slowly approaching 30 and I'm still doing everything I was doing when I was 4; playing video games and drawing all the time. Monster hunter is the greatest art direction in a video game that I have ever seen. Im sure we'll talk about it.
I cant wait to be your teacher. I will help you pursue all your creative goals in the best way I can.
I have lots of ideas for classes take a look below and reach out to me if any of these interest you. I'm working on lessons plans as you read this.
