Ever dreamed of creating your own characters, stories, and epic comic pages? In this fun and interactive 8-week course, students will learn how to bring their comic book ideas to life—step by step! Throughout the course, learners will dive into the full comic creation process, starting with character and world-building and ending with finished comic pages they’ll be proud to share. They’ll get to create their own original characters, develop exciting storylines, learn the basics of layout and pacing, and explore inking, lettering, and visual effects that make their stories pop. Each class session includes live demonstrations, drawing practice, and one-on-one support from experienced art instructors Dawood Marion and Miss Olivia. This class is ideal for learners who enjoy drawing, storytelling, or reading comics and manga. No previous experience is required—just a love for creativity and a willingness to learn! Whether your child is already filling sketchbooks with characters or just starting their comic journey, they’ll be welcomed into a supportive space where they can express themselves, build confidence, and grow as artists. What learners will do each week: Participate in guided drawing and story-building activities Share their characters and comic ideas with the group Receive gentle feedback to improve their work Watch live drawing demos from the teachers Work on their comic book project week by week Present their final work in a group showcase during the last class! The Learner Experience: Students will leave each class with something new: a new character pose, a story outline, a page sketch, or a comic panel ready to ink. They’ll be encouraged to think like storytellers and artists, and they’ll be empowered to create with their own style. Miss Olivia works hard to make every learner feel seen, valued, and supported. She offers feedback in a positive, friendly way that helps students grow and feel proud of their work. The final showcase in Week 6 is always a highlight, as students get to present what they’ve created and celebrate their progress with their peers! Learners will also receive optional “between-class” activities, such as sketch prompts or comic reading challenges, to help keep the creative momentum going outside of class. Whether learners are into action-packed superhero comics, funny slice-of-life stories, or dramatic manga adventures, this class gives them the tools to make their vision a reality—and have a blast while doing it. ______________________________________________________________________ NO BULLY ZONE At Miss Brandy's Fun and Learning Academy, we’re all about creating a safe and welcoming space for every learner! Our strict NO BULLYING rule reflects our commitment to kindness and respect among classmates. Here’s how we handle behavior issues in a friendly way: Verbal Warning: If a student needs a gentle reminder about our expectations, we’ll start with a friendly verbal warning. Waiting Room/Break Room: If the behavior continues, the student might spend a little time in a waiting or break room. During this time, the teacher will chat with them to understand what’s going on and help them get back on track before returning to class. Removal from Class: If issues persist, we may need to remove the student from class. Unfortunately, no refunds can be issued in this case. We believe in giving everyone a chance to learn and grow, and together, we can ensure our classes remain a fun place for all!
