In this three week course, students will be taught one digraph a week. Two letters that make one sound is called a digraph. The first week we will focus on the "sh" digraph. I will use body movements and whole body teaching to teach each digraph. I will also use a whiteboard and picture cards. Students will each get a chance to share their thinking and if they hear certain digraphs in words. The second week will be focused on "CH". This will follow the same structure as the first week. The third week is focused on "TH." This will follow the same structure as the first week.The last week, we will play games where we sort all digraphs in to the appropriate column. By the end, the students should be able to identify "sh","ch", and "th."

Hello! I am Mrs. Holstine and I teach early childhood classes.
I teach Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies for Elementary aged students. I have taught in a formal classroom for the last five years. Two of those years were spent with first graders and the rest were spent with kindergarten kids.
I believe that kids learn best when they are interested in the subject matter. I like to get to know the students personally before jumping into a lesson. I like to relate the lesson back to their personal lives to keep the student engaged.
