Description
Class Experience
By the end of the fourth-year curriculum, students will have covered all thirty seven chapters of the book in their entirety, while building their English and reading skills, developing their critical thinking abilities, learning the etiquette of discussion, and creating lasting friendships. The overarching goal of this course is two-fold: 1. To complete reading the fourth book (which consists of in-class and at-home reading) with class discussions throughout our readings. 2. To have a lot of fun by engaging in teamwork-based activities and games, all related to the topics covered in the book. This goal will also impart upon the learners the critical skill of working together and making compromises as a team, something which the quarantine and pandemic has unfortunately, weakened. This is a great way to have fun with old & new friends, all from the comfort of one's bedroom!
Professor Dean is a highly qualified instructor for this course, and surely, all courses related to the Harry Potter series. He himself graduated from a well-respected magical institution with a Baccalaureate degree, and after educating young minds for eight years, is now willing to spread magical education through virtual means. Currently, he is preoccupied obtaining a medical degree, learning all about the magic of medicine.
Homework will primarily consist of reading assigned chapters of the book, along with occasional writing & drawing assignments. This should take approximately 2-4 hours each week. The assigned readings will be essential to keep up with the class pace; thus, please ensure your child has about one extra hour allotted for this class every other day.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
