In this class we will make a fun easter treat. This is a no bake treat. But we will learn how to use the stove top safely while melting the chocolate and butter together. Then mixing the rice puffs into the chocolate mixture. We will divide the mixture evenly between the holes in a muffin tin, and shape them into little nests before placing the chocolate eggs inside. We will discuss kitchen hygiene and safety throughout the lesson. I will demonstrate each step live before giving the students the opportunity to complete the step. Offering guidance and problem solving skills if necessary. This is a fun and easy easter activity. The recipe will be available to download after enrolling to enable you to get the necessary supplies before the lesson. Please check the supply list for equipment required.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there! I am Mrs Vermeulen, but all my learners call me Mrs V.
I am a Hospitality teacher and a Microsoft Certified Educator. I have been teaching in schools for 7 years, and before that I worked in hotels. I have a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
I am very passionate about cooking and technology.
I live in New Zealand, but I was born in South Africa.
My cooking classes can vary from fun treats to healthy meals.
My grandmother taught me to cook when I was just a little girl and I have loved doing it ever since. Cooking is not just fun to learn, but a life skill that will benefit you for the rest of your life.
In my technology classes I will teach you how to use the programs to make your life easier, and all the benefits it has.
I have experience teaching learners from many diverse backgrounds and ages. And believe that forming mutually respectful relationships is key to having learners that are engaged and enthusiastic about learning.
My classes are practical and hands on, and of course cooking classes end with something good to eat.
I love seeing the pride learners experience when they create something.
I can’t wait to see your learner in my class.
Mrs V.
