In this multi-day course, students will learn how to count and compare amounts of Canadian coins and paper money up to $100. Classes will focus on identifying, counting, and comparing Canadian coins and bills. We will start with coins, first learning how to make 100 cents with different coins. Students will learn to represent amounts of money in more than one way, for example, they may be asked to show 65 cents in more than one way. Students will learn how to represent, compare, and describe relationships between coins and bills up to $100.
Handouts will be provided upon enrollment. Students should have 10-20 Canadian coins of each type (dimes, nickels, and quarters) to use for counting during class, as well as pencil and paper.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
