Description
Class Experience
Social Skills are some of the most important determinations of success in school and as an adult. In this class, we will practice having conversations in an informal setting. Students will color the coloring sheet posted for the week or they can bring their own pages. As we color, I will start topics and encourage participation. This is a fun way for teens to learn how to make friends. I make sure each student is given the opportunity to join in the conversation - or pass if they are not...
As a school counselor for over 15 years, I have taught classroom lessons and held many social skills groups with typical and special education students. I have seen that most interpersonal problems can be resolved by learning how to communicate better.
Please either print out the handout for the week or have your child bring their own coloring page. They will also need crayons, colored pencils, or markers.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
