Description

Class Experience

Ever wonder how different crystals grow? Or what the difference in the shapes are? We will find that out in a fun and safe science project.  Students will learn about the varieties of crystals and how the form. We then will create 2 kinds of crystals using things found in the kitchen. Three days later we will meet again to see how the crystals did.  Learners will observe the formations over a few days and share their findings in the next class. Students will learn how to create crystals. As well as discover how minerals form amazing crystals differently.

2 cups hot water (parent assistance required) 
1/4 cup Salt
2 teaspoons vinegar
food coloring( optional)
sponge
shallow dish

1/2 cup hot water
1 clean jar with lid
2 1/2 tablespoons Alum
spoon

35 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
