All aboard on this 10 week course! This class will use art to explore different Asian countries each week including China, Japan, India, Mongolia, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Israel. Using slides, videos and discussions, students will discover the geographical and cultural attributes of each country. Learners will discover a countries location, flag, language, art, celebrations, food, community, clothing, flora and fauna. Learners will fill in and create a fun doodle note worksheet each week. They will use crayons or colored pencils to create a visual representation of the country they are exploring. Classes are designed for different learning styles; kinesthetic, auditory, and visual. Interaction between students is always encouraged. Learners will be encouraged to engage in conversation talking about each country and connecting to their own lives and what they know. Learners will develop an appreciation for traveling, foreign cultures, celebrations, and connect to a world outside their own. Students are always encouraged to be sensitive to others beliefs and cultures. My classes are created to be inclusive to all types of learners. This course is a fun introduction to world geography. No prior knowledge is needed. Learning Goals
Students will be introduced to various countries and cultures around the world. Learners will be encouraged to develop an understanding and appreciation for different countries and cultures.

General Supplies: Crayons/Colored Pencils and a Pencil. Handouts will be provided before class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I have been a K-12 teacher for 17 years, focusing on core subjects including but not limited to science, social studies, world geography, language arts, and math. I love to teach core subjects in a way that is both engaging and fun. I have a background in cultural and physical anthropology and a degree with an emphasis in education for elementary and middle grades.
