In this one-time art class, students will learn to draw a full body portrait of a sitting calico cat, using colored pencil.
Class experience
In this one-time drawing class, students will learn to draw a realistic, full body portrait of a sitting calico cat, using colored pencil. Students are welcome to come to class with fun facts to share about cats if they want. I will also share a few fun facts about these animals throughout class while we draw. During class, I will demonstrate each step for students and have students complete that step along with me. My classroom is a calm, fun, and creative environment where discussion...
1. Students will learn techniques for sketching a proportionate contour drawing (outline) of a calico cat (full body). 2. Students will learn techniques for smooth blending, pencil application, gradient blending, and adding contrast. 3. Students will learn techniques for creating fur texture with colored pencils. 4. Students will learn a few facts about cats.
