Class Experience

Join us this summer for a fun and interactive 10-week coloring club! Your student will bring along coloring materials and a project of his or her choice to work on and discuss during our class session! Students may color an existing picture (such as a coloring book or coloring page) and/or draw and color their own pictures or designs. Students may choose to work on one or more coloring projects of their choice during the class.

This is an ongoing club, but each class is independent and does not build on the previous one, so students and families have the flexibility to drop in or out each week around summer plans.

Each class will feature the following sections:
1.) Class rules: We will review the rules and expectations for the class.

2.) Featured color/color combination of the week: A different color or color combination will be featured briefly at the beginning of the class each week to discuss and explore. For each featured color or color combination, we will discuss different shades of the color and what objects we can think of or find around the house that are that color.

3.) Independent coloring time with frequent check-ins: Each student will share with the class what he or she has chosen to color during the session. An optional printable coloring sheet of the week will be available, but students may choose any coloring page or project they would like to work on during the class. [NOTE: This is NOT a step-by-step instructional drawing class. We will discuss colors and informally address coloring techniques we are trying out, but the class is designed to allow for open-ended creative expression on a project or projects of the student's choice.]

4.) Show and tell at the end of class: Students will share the progress they made on their coloring projects at the end of class.
