In this one-time course, students will learn about the color wheel, color families, and how to make an appealing color scheme.
Class experience
In this class, we'll learn about the color wheel and how colors are mixed together to make more nuanced colors. We'll also learn some keywords like hue, tone, and saturation before moving on to talking about complementary colors, color temperature, and color families. For complementary colors, we will pick a set of two complementary colors and draw simple designs with them like stars and hearts. For color temperature, we will draw the same tree twice and then color one with cool colors and...
Students will improve their understanding of colors' relationship to one another, and how to use them in drawings.
Students will need at least one piece of paper and a set of colored pencils, at minimum, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white, gray, and black. Markers are also okay, but will make it harder to blend colors, so colored pencils are highly recommended.
